CSSA Toolkit - Helping Local Municipalities Understand the Value of Self Storage

Thursday, October 24, 2024 - 10:00am

Moderated by Ross Hutchings, CSSA Executive Director, and

Anne Mari DeCoster, PR Toolkit Program Manager

Featuring Beth Miller Public Affairs

Join us for the release of CSSA’s newest member resource: a PR Toolkit with resources to help you get your message through to municipal decision makers at Planning and Zoning.

In this Peer Power Hour, the Beth Miller Public Affairs team will present the toolkit and provide strategic counsel on how to effectively engage with local decision-makers and stakeholders: what to say, how to say it, how to show it, what not to say or show.

The Toolkit Includes:

  • Fact Sheets – describing how self storage helps California communities, meets important needs for modern Californians, and operates as good community members and responsible neighbors
  • Leave Behind Sheets – to give to local decision makers, describing how self storage benefits local communities
  • FAQs – commonly asked questions answered in ways that demonstrate the benefits self storage provides to California communities
  • PowerPoint template – to use as the basis for your presentations to local decision makers
  • Other resources, including infographics, a script for 90-second video, photos, and testimonials showing how self storage contributes to local communities

The toolkit was developed by Beth Miller Public Affairs, a team with extensive experience in crafting effective messages for local decision makers in California communities. It is part of the CSSA’s Legal and Legislative Committee’s 4-part plan to help combat negative local initiatives and ensure that self storage remains an integral part of municipalities.

*The toolkit and the recording of this Peer Power Hour will be available for use by CSSA members.*
